Police: Motive behind St. Lidwina Church Attack still under Probe

TEMPO.CO, Sleman - Sleman Police chief AKBP Firman Lukmanul Hakim stated that the motive behind the attack in St. Lidwina Bedok on Jambon Street, Gamping on Sunday morning (11/2) at round 7:45 a.m. is still under investigation.
“We are still trying to find out the motive. We are still collecting testimonies and evidence and processing the crime scene,” he said.

He explained that the police is still investigating into the number of attackers.
“We are still collecting information. In the meantime the attacker is one man. Regarding information on two people waiting outside of the church, we are still looking into the case. We cannot point fingers haphazardly,” he went on.
He revealed that the incident began on Sunday (11/2) around 7.30 am. A man named Suliyono (22) a resident of Krajan, Pesanggrahan Banyuwangi entered the church from the west entrance and attacked Martinus Parmadi Subiantoro, and he went into the main building and attacked Romo Prier and also Budi Purnomo.
