TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesperson Febri Diansyah said his office has offered electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case suspect Setya Novanto with an opportunity to serve as a justice collaborator. The aim is to expose other individuals involved in in the graft case.

"If the defendant has a good faith to be a justice collaborator, he can propose it. [The KPK] will consider and review it," said Febri at his office in Jakarta on Thursday, January 4.

To be a justice collaborator, Setya is required to plead guilty and cooperate with the KPK to arrest other suspects. However, Febri explained that the main suspect cannot serve as a justice collaborator.

"So, he can just propose it and we will judge who’s the main actor of the case," he said.

Febri added that Setya might receive a lighter sentence should he agree to become a justice collaborator.

Setya’s trial will be resumed as the panel of judges declined the exception or objection filed by Setya. They ordered the KPK to continue the investigation into the case.
