Indonesia U22 Faced with Goalkeeper Crisis in SEA Games 2017

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia U22 football team is currently faced with a difficult situation heading towards the final SEA Games Group B match against Cambodia. The match will be held at the Shah Alam Stadium in Selangor, Malaysia, on Thursday, August 24.
Indonesia’s main goalkeeper Satria Tama was injured during the last match against Vietnam on Tuesday that ended in a 0-0 score. The keeper who originally comes from Gresik United club was replaced by Kartika Ajie at the end of the second-half of the match.

“Satria is undergoing a medical check-up this evening. We are waiting for the doctor’s decision whether Satria will be allowed to play or not tomorrow,” said the team’s manager Endri Erawan.
Indonesia U22 team could actually register Dicky Indrayana as the third goalkeeper for the team. But it would force Satria out of the team. The SEA Games regulation only permits 20 names to be listed in a country’s football team.
Indonesia U22 could go through the SEA Games semi-finals if they win against Cambodia. This will be true if Thailand can beat Vietnam or vice versa. But if they score a draw then Indonesia’s chance to go through the semi-finals will depend on the goal differences between Vietnam and Thailand.
