SEA Games: Malaysia Apologizes on Upside-Down Flag Incident

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin will meet Indonesian Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi on Sunday (20/8) to directly convey an apology in relation to the recent incident of inversed flag printed on 2017 SEA Games guide book.
"We would like to apologize to all people of Indonesia for our mistake which was absolutely unintentional in printing Indonesian flag in the guide book," 2017 SEA Games Malaysia Organizing Committee (MASOC) conveyed on Saturday evening (19/8).

Khairy Jamaluddin who also serves as the chairman of MASOC of 2017 SEA Games immediately responded to a tweet from Minister Imam Nahrawi who expressed his complaint on the upside-down flag printed in the guide book.
"We truly regret this error and we hope that the close ties between the two countries will be further enhanced in the spirit of the SEA Games," he stated.
