TEMPO.CO, Singapore - Novel Baswedan looked healthy during police questioning at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore today. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Agus Rahardjo and his deputy Saut Situmorang were seen attending the questioning.

Tempo gathered that Novel seemed relaxed and smiled a lot on the occasion. Wearing a black dress with a peci (traditional hat), Novel even asked for a short break for a prayer.

Before undergoing the questioning, Novel held a meeting with the KPK leaders. Haris Azhar, a member of the People’s Commission for the KPK who accompanied Novel this morning, did not reveal the details about the meeting with the KPK leaders. “One thing is for sure, Novel looked healthy,” Haris said.

Arriving at 8:30 am local time, police investigators only started questioning Novel at 10 am. Jakarta Police investigators questioned Novel after getting a green light from the doctor team. Investigators said they would need to confirm the sketches of two alleged attackers. Novel earlier had said that he had no information that would help investigators uncover the case since he did not see the perpetrators.

The police are still unable to identify the acid attackers on Novel Baswedan four months after the incident. Investigators reasoned that they are having difficulty in finding evidence and witness. They even accused Novel of hampering the investigation into the case for refusing to attend questioning. The investigators recently claimed that they have made the sketches of key witnesses but not yet release it. Tempo learned that the sketches of the witnesses were identical with three individuals who were in fact questioned and released between April and May.
