TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara demanded Telegram to formulate standard operating procedure (SOP) to handle radicalism contents.
"What we specifically requested to Telegram is to create SOP that allows self- filtering on radicalism contents," he said in Jakarta on Friday, July 14.

He explained that this SOP is one of the requirements for the cancellation to block 11 Domain Name System (DNS) owned by Telegram carried out by Internet Service Provider (ISP).
The blocking was requested by Communication and Information Ministry because they contain radicalism and lead to terrorism such as how to assemble bombs and how to launch an attack, Rudiantara added.
The 11 blocked DNS include t.me, telegram.me, telegram.org, core.telegram.org, desktop.telegram.org, macos.telegram.org, web.telegram.org, venus.web.telegram.org, pluto.web.telegram.org, flora.web.telegram.org, and flora-1.web.telegram.org.
As a result, web-based Telegram services cannot be accessed.
