TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agun Gunanjar, chairman of the inquiry committee against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), said that he has met the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) over the KPK’s financial statement and performance for 2006-2016 term. According to him, they found alleged irregularities, including in recruitment of investigators, financial management and accountability, as well as tapping.

However, Agun did not divulge details about the BPK. "What are the findings? We will examine them. There will be further steps," he said after a meeting between the inquiry committee and BPK yesterday.

According to Agun, the committee will have to meet and consult with several agencies to clarify for them the BPK findings.

He explained that the inquiry committee received the BPK report over the KPK financial statement for 2015 and 2016 term. "And apparently we found non-compliance with... the internal control system both in 2015 and 2016," Agun said.

As for tapping, the DPR has asked the BPK to audit the state budget used by the KPK.

The inquiry committee will meet the State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry over recruitment of investigators and consult with the Communication and Informatics Ministry over tapping.

The inquiry committee and the BPK met for three hours at the latter’s office yesterday. The BPK will hold another hearing with the committee on July 12.
