TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aceh Culture and Tourism Agency offerred a number of tourism packages in Malaysia.
Head of Marketing Division of Aceh Culture and Tourism Agency Rahmadani in Banda Aceh said the package offer was delivered in Sales Mission event taking place in three cities in Malaysia, in three days 26, 27, and 28 April.
"This event is a tourism marketing strategy in Malaysia," Rahmadani added.
A number of packages offered, among others, are Wonderful Ramadhan in Aceh, Discover Aceh, Aceh Adventure, Aceh Underwater, Tsunami Herritage, Banda Aceh-Sabang, Wonderful Idul Adha in Aceh, Muharram in Aceh, Historical dan Cultural Muhibbah in Aceh, and others.
Rahmadani expects such packages can significantly draw more Malaysian tourists to Aceh since the number increases by the year.
In 2016, 30,038 Malaysian tourists visited Aceh. This figure is higher than the previous year as many as 21,046 tourists.
In addition to offering tourism packages, Sales Mission is intended to improve the negative image of Aceh perceived by a number of tourism agents in Malaysia ranging from negative issues of hijab, security, to access connectivity, Rahmadani explained.
Sales Mission is part of promotional event of Wonderful Indonesia launched by RI Tourism Ministry held in three cities in Malaysia namely Seremban, Melaka, and Johor Bahru.
