TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama better known as Ahok plans to accelerate the completion of a number of his programs that might not be accomplished before the end of his term on October 2017.
“There are many, such as the Asian Games project,” Ahok said on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
The infrastructure completion for the 2018 Asian Games was the first among others that were mentioned by the Jakarta Governor. The project includes the completion of a Velodrome in Rawamangun, an Equestrian arena in Pulomas, and the light rail transit (LRT).
Regarding transportation, Ahok will soon hand it over to PT Transportasi Jakarta to manage the stops and terminals. However, he said, the right to manage requires PT Transjakarta to have a minimum income of Rp2 trillion. “Reducing the subsidy for Transjakarta,” he explained.
The Former Bangka Belitung Regent will also speed up the apartment construction on top of the LRT depot that is said to be built in Rawa Buaya, Lebak Bulus, Pulogadung, and Kampung Rambutan. Meanwhile, the construction in Kelapa Gading is scheduled to finish in 2018.
These apartments will later be sold to the people of Jakarta with monthly income over Rp10 million or below the number, including to Civil Servants.
Ahok will step down from his position as Governor of Jakarta in October. He will be replaced by Anies Baswedan who is named as the Governor-elect following a number of quick count electoral results yesterday, April 19.
