TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Motorcycle maker PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) has launched exports of Yamaha Xmax 300cc to Europe. The event was carried out in YIMM head office in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on April 18, 2017.

Attending the event were YIMM Board of Director and Management, as well as I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan, the director general of metal, machinery, transportation modes and electronic industry for the Industry Ministry.

YIMM General Manager of Aftersales Muhammad Abidin said that Yamaha Xmax 300cc is a global product. “Exports start in April 2017,” Abidin stated in a press release received by Tempo on April 18, 2017.

According to Abidin, YIMM has played an important role in Japan’s Yamaha Motor Corporation in the last 20 years as a Global Factory for Yamaha Family the world over. The company is committed to meeting Yamaha Global Standard Quality Control.

“Yamaha Indonesia has now exported products such as R25, R3, Nmax to Europe, Japan, the United States, Australia, etc,” he said.

Abidin claims that Yamaha Indonesia is the country’s largest motorcycle maker by export volume. “All in all, over 1 million units [have been exported] since 1997,” he said.

In 2016, YIMM was named as the Best Exporter in the Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise Office (KPU) Award.
