TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - YouTube's new app for India's internet market has arrived. The beta version of YouTube Go app, which was first unveiled last year, is now available on Google Play.
Google will release the stable version of the app soon. The internet giant also plans to make it available in other developing markets.
YouTube Go was unveiled at the Google for India event in September last year. The app was designed to work on slow internet connections, offering users control over how they want to watch. Users can save videos for offline viewing and also select the resolutions that work best with their internet speed.
YouTube product manager Jay Akkad wrote in a blog post that they ensured that the app works well across a wide range of phones and connectivity.
