Indictment Reveals Distribution of Funds in e-KTP Graft Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A budget of Rp5.9 trillion was agreed for the electronic identity card or e-KTP project after several meetings. The indictment read out by the public prosecutors of Jakarta the Corruption Court on Thursday, March 9, revealed that 51 percent or Rp2.662 trillion of the budget was used for the project, the rest was distributed to other parties.

Some 49 percent of the funds or Rp2.558 trillion was shared between several individuals. Listed below is a breakdown of the distribution of the funds as read out by the public prosecutor of the Corruption Court.

1. Officials of the Home Affairs Ministry, including the defendants: Rp365.4 billion.

2. Members of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR): Rp261 billion.

3. Setya Novanto (Golkar Party) and Andi Narogong: Rp574.2 billion.

4. Anas Urbaningrum and M. Nazaruddin (Democratic Party): Rp574.2 billion.

5. Profit taken by project implementers or partners: Rp783 billion.

The indictment also revealed profit sharing agreements. A project meeting resulted in a recommendation that state-owned enterprises (SOE) shall be appointed as the project implementers or partners. The aim is to easily steer the project.
