
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In a bid to ease traffic, the city of Malang in East Java is set to have monorail system in the near future.
The Malang city government will work with both local investors and foreign investors from Germany and Singapore to build the monorail.
Malang Mayor Moch Anton in Malang on Friday (13/1) said that the city government would soon sign a memorandum of understanding with the investors regarding the construction of the monorail.
"The signing will probably be done on 16 or 17 January," he said.
After the signing of the MoU, Anton said the city government would propose the plan of the construction of monorail to Malang Regional Council (DPRD) for approval.
