TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that global risks are still going to affect the economy in 2017, therefore it calls for measures to address with the flagging economy.

"In short, next year, economy instability will still continue. Both develop and developing countries will experience the same situation and both need to anticipate damaging risks," Sri Mulyani said during a journalist training in Sentul, Bogor, on Saturday (26/11).

Sri Mulyani explained that such potential risks emerged after the US presidential election tool place because the world is still predicting the policies of the elected president Donald Trump and the plans of US Central Bank to adjust its interest rate.

In addition, the following year, two countries with stable economy in Europe, Germany and France will also hold general election and the results will influence political and economic policies in Europe and the rest of the world. Furthermore, economy slowdown in China can also lower the performance of national trade sector.

In response to such risks, Minister Sri Mulyani proposed some measures to anticipate the risks to our economy in 2017. One of the measures is strengthening household consumption and investment. Another measure is strengthening fiscal policy by setting credible and realistic state budget (APBN).
