Makassar Holds Jet Ski Championship to Promote Maritime Tourism

TEMPO.CO, Makassar - The Makassar City administration is organizing a jet ski championship in Makassar, South Sulawesi, from November 12 to 13, 2016 to promote its maritime tourism destinations in Daeng city.
Makassar`s Head of Youth and Sports Office, Ahmad Hendra Hakamuddin, said here on Wednesday that a number of athletes from various cities in the country as well as abroad will be participating in this championship.
"We hope to attract many more tourists to Makassar," he added.
The event will be held at the Losari Beach and the Samalona Island, and will feature various local art and cultural performances, he informed.
As for the championship of jetski class endurance Open it has deliberately taken locations around the island so that it may be enjoyed by participants or athletes from both home and abroad.
The decision to not keep the event confined to Losari but to also include the Samalona Island was deliberate and thought through
Athletes will be competing in six classes in the event, namely Expert Ski Limited, Endurance Open, Novice Runabout Stock, Expert Runabout Stock, Spark Runabout Stock and Pro Open Runabout.
