TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Legal Commission, the House of Representatives (DPR), Bambang Soesatyo said that the arrest of one of his members of commission, Putu Sudiartana, is a slap in the face to his commission. Putu is the first member of the House’s Commission III arrested in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sting operation (OTT).

Bambang said that he didn’t know the reason for the arrest. “I heard it was a transfer or local development. But I’m not sure as I wait for the KPK’s exposure,” Bambang said at the Senayan Parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 29, 2016.

He admitted his surprise at Putu’s arrest. More so that the House’s Legal Commission KPK had broken the fast with the KPK a day before. “[We] broke the fast on Monday, OTT yesterday,” he said.

Bambang has expressed his support for the KPK in the investigation of the case. “The public must know that even though the DPR has a partnership with the KPK, we can’t erase our sins. All sin is sin, it’s our principle in maintaining relationships,” Bambang said.
