TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said that he would form a joint team consisting officials from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), notary public, the National Land Agency (BPN) and the Jakarta administration to trace city assets and hunt down land mafia.
"We will find them in Netherland, and we already have them. The KPK has found them in Netherlands, and we have names," Ahok said at the City Hall on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Ahok revealed that many city assets had been acquired by private owners.
"Those assets can only be used by government officials. But we found non-official occupying the assets," Ahok added.
In addition, Ahok revealed that the BPN is currently conducting internal investigation to eradicate land mafias.
Ahok alleged that some Jakarta Financial and Asset Management Board (BPKAD) officials have been involved with land mafias. Ahok said that he had instructed the BPKAD to list all assets owned by the Jakarta administration, but the instruction had been ignored.
"We have asked [the BPKAD] to list all the assets since long ago. But they won't do it. We have our suspicion, so we form a team," Ahok said.
