TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The State-Owned Enterprises Ministry is targeting to finalize the establishment of holding companies for SOEs from four sectors before July this year. The four sectors are toll roads, Pertamina, finance, and mining.
SOE Minister Rini Mariani Soemarno said that the holdings' parent companies would be SOEs whose shares are fully owned by the government.
"Hopefully they can be formed before Eid," she said while attending the ministry's birthday celebration at the Pertamina headquarters, Wednesday, April 13.
The government aims to establish holding companies for SOEs from six sectors this year, namely mining, highways, Pertamina, housing, banking, as well as construction and engineering.
Rini is certain that unifying these SOEs will have a positive impact on the firms. As an example, she mentioned that the toll road holding company will facilitate Jasa Marga to reach its target of managing 1,290 kilometers of toll road. The company currently operates 700 kilometer.
PT Pertamina, Rini said, will be the holding company for PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk.
In the financial sector, four state banks, PT Pegadaian and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani will be the subsidiaries PT Danareksa. Meanwhile, mining SOEs like Bukit Asam, PT Timah, Aneka Tambang will have PT Inalum as the parent company.
