TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta-Celebrating Yogyakarta’s 259th anniversary, the city administration with Jogja’s Animal Lover community will hold a Domestic Cat Festival at the Hygienic Fish Market on Sunday, October 4.
Chairman of the First Domestic Cat Festival, Sri Panggarti in Yogyakarta on Thursday, said the festival aims to uplift domestic cat race that have not gained public’s attention, so many domestic cats are feral.
"We do not set a target on the number of participants but hope there would be many participants in this event," said Sri Panggarti who is also the Yogyakarta Head of Technical Implementation Unit of the Veterinary Services.
Prospective participants can register through the Veterinary Services Unit office located at Jalan Tegalturi Yogyakarta or through the Kayu Manis Animal Clinic located at Jalan Gambiran.
Registration at the Veterinary Services Unit served during working hours, while at the Kayu Manis Animal Clinic is open for 24 hours. "Participants can also register before the event starts," he said.
