TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ngliyep beach, located south of Malang, East Java, is attracting investors. Three investors are currently doing feasibility studies on the beach.
"The location targeted is a beach in the Donomulyo district. The feasibility study we made lists several infrastructure developments as well as the improvement of other supporting facilities," Asyari, director of administration at regional firm PD Jasa Yasa, said on Thursday, July 2.
According to Asyari, the three investors came from East Java and Jakarta. One of them is a foreign company.
"We hope that one of the three investors can make our dream of making Ngliyep Beach as one of Malang's top tourist destination come true," he said.
Ngliyep Beach is an area of about 10 hectares surrounded by steep cliffs and protected forests. It is located some 62 kilometers from Malang City, about 2.5 hours drive.
Despite offering such natural beauty, the beach is in an underdeveloped state, with lack of adequate support facilities that can attract local and foreign tourists.
PD Jasa Yasa is targeting to beach to attract more than 60,000 tourists.
