The first pointer, the Minister said that there has to be an investigation to reveal the main cause of the massive flow of migrants in Southeast Asia. Secondly, Retno added, there has to be cooperation with UNHCR and IOM for to verify the migrants.
"And the third is that the issue is related to human trafficking, which is why countries must cooperate to address human trafficking issue," said Retno.
Human trafficking has been claimed as one of the main causes of the large number of illegal immigrants. According to Retno, countries must establish cooperation on transnational crime in an effort to eradicate human trafficking.
