TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government keeps correcting the mechanism of the distribution for the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) fund that was given to underprivileged students in the capital. However, those underprivileged students are reportedly smoking and capable of buying expensive cellphone.
"The KJP won't be given to students who smoke and have expensive cell phone," said Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama at the City Hall on Friday.
Ahok stated that Jakarta administration tighten the rule of giving away the KJP so the fund recipients can be right on target and come from underprivileged family. "We will do it gradually, that's why we're filtering who are really the good ones," he expressed.
The KJP fund that was allocated in the 2015 City Budget (APBD) is about Rp2.4 trillion. Its amount decreased compared to last year, which was about Rp3 trillion. After it is evaluated, he will decrease the fund up to Rp600 billion.
