TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The River, Lake, and Ferry Crossing Transportation Indonesia (ASDP) has prepared Rp300 billion this year to help repair ports. The repair is done to make way for the Sea Toll Road as proposed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
ASDP CEO Danang Baskoro said that the repair will cover transportation infrastructure and equipment. "We have the scheme already," he said.
Danang added that ASDP currently owns 34 ports, yet planning to add more for the program. ASDP also plans to increase port capacity to 40 tons. “The more ports that we have, the more capacity that we have,” he said.
Nevertheless, Danang said that the repair will not finish in a day. "Private companies can join in as investment is necessary," said Danang. Later, the freeway will connect Aceh to Papua in three segments namely South, Center, and North.
