TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian film entitled ‘Another Trip to The Moon’ by Ismail Basbeth, a film director from Yogyakarta, was taking part at the Rotterdam International Film Festival which was held starting from January 21 to February 1. The film competed other 13 films for Tiger Award, the highest award at the 44-year-old festival.
Basbeth’s film was screened for the first time on January 26 in front of public at Pathe cinema, Rotterdam, Netherlands. Ismail said he was nervous when attending the screening.
“But I am thankful. Despite the rush, many people were watching the film,” Ismail said.
For Ismail, the number of people watching his movie is more important than the status of being nominated for the Tiger Awards. Around 300 audiences attended the screening that night.
Besides Basbeth’s film, a film by Eddie Cahyono entitled ‘Siti’ was also screened at the festival for Bright Future Premiere category. ‘Siti’ had previously being screened at 2014 Singapore International Film Festival and the main actress, Sekar Sari, won at the best leading role category.
Two other Indonesian short films entitled ‘Lonely Wolf’ by Yusron Fuadi and ‘Waiting For News’ by Yandy Laurens are screened for short film category.
