TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Few images of corruptors were displayed during the Anti-Corruption Day event, held by the Indonesia Corruption Watch at the National Museum. The most notable image depicted Angelina Sondakh wearing a pink dress, a tiara and a sling with a writing that says “Miss Corruptor”.
In addition to Angelina, several images of well-known corruptors were also displayed, including tax mafia Gayus Tambunan, former Democratic Party’s general treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin, and former Justice and Prosperous Party chairman Luthfi Hasan Ishaq.
ICW coordinator Ade Irawan said the displays were aimed at familiarizing young generations to the people who stole money from the state.
“They were supposed to be good examples of honest, decent and integrated people for young generation,” said Ade.
Ade added that anti-corruption attitude must be nurtured since early age, and that it is a challenge to prevent young generations from being apathetic toward corruption.
