TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the Islamic Defender Front (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab forms the 'Save Jakarta Presidium'. Rizieq said that the presidium was formed to set out a government which can help understand the aspiration of Jakarta people.
“We reject Ahok. Therefore, we formed Save Jakarta Presidium and we will hold a grand meeting," said Rizieq.
Rizieq explained that the members of the presidium, claimed as those who care about Jakarta and the Muslims, will elect a new governor for Jakarta. Rizieq said that some of the members will be well-known public figure such as the Dangdut singer Rhoma Irama, Head of Indonesian Ulema Council Cholil Ridwan, and some public figures from the Betawi ethnic group.
