TEMPO.CO, Tianjin – President Joko Widodo visited a coal-fired power plant on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the SDIC Beijing power plant in Tianjin, China. The president and his entourage arrived at the plant at around 5 p.m. local time.
Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil and Trade Minister Rahmat Gobel in his visit.
Prior to visiting the plant, Jokowi also came to China’s largest man-made port the Pacific International Container Port. Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said Jokowi’s visited both sites to observe China’s infrastructure development.
“[The president] wants to see what China has developed, the integration between a power plant, maritime infrastructure and an industrial park. Also their connectivity to express railway,” he said.
