TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President-elect Joko Widodo said his resignation as Jakarta Governor has been agreed by the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). After that, he will submit resignation letter as governor to the president.
“I will submit my resignation to the president through Home Affairs Minister,” said Jokowi on Tuesday.
Jokowi said that he had to wait for DPRD plenary meeting that discussed his resignation. After that, Jokowi will submit the result of the meeting to the president. “We wait first from the council and then I will give the letter to the president,” said Jokowi.
Previously, the Jakarta DPRD has held a meeting to discuss Jokowi’s resignation. The DPRD has agreed to hold a plenary meeting to discuss the matter on Thursday, October 2.
