TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Canadian cell-phone maker Blackberry plans to launch Blackberry Messenger (BBM) Beta Version for Windows Phone to cater to Windows Phone users keen on using the BBM. The BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service has been available for Android and iOS phones since the last couple of months, but not for Windows Phone.
“We’ve gotten an incredible number of requests for BBM to come to Windows Phone. In the coming weeks we’ll be ready to welcome millions of Windows Phone users to the growing BBM community,” the company said as quoted from Inside BlackBerry, on Thursday, July 10 2014.
In this Beta introduction version, BlackBerry focuses on introducing the excellence of BBM and the experience in using the chatting application. BBM Beta version will be equipped with three features, viz. BBM Chat, Contacts and Feeds.
Silimar to BBM on Androids and iOS, BBM Chat will enable users to send messages to their contacts and engage in group chatting. In the Feed section, friends’ status and profiles will also be displayed.
“The BBM team here at BlackBerry has been busy getting BBM for Windows Phone ready to go. We’re preparing for an external beta ahead of our launch and are ready to start accepting applications to participate,” the company said.
BBM Beta version is available for Windows Phone in Windows Phone Store. However, Blackberry has yet to confirm as to when it will launch the final version.
