TEMPO.CO, Las Vegas - Las Vegas Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2014 has motivated Toyota to soon realize its hydrogen-powered car. The company announced that the car will be sold on the market by 2015.
Although it runs on hydrogToyota to Produce Hydrogen-Powered Caren, the car is relatively efficient, especially when compared to other supercars. While fully charged, the car can travel 500 kilometers. Moreover, the hydrogen car is certainly environmental friendly.
However, the car's production will have to wait for the completion of certain infrastructures. Bob Carter, Senior Vice President of Automotive Operations Toyota Motor Sales USA, stated that California has agreed to fund US$ 200 million for the construction of 20 fueling stations in 2015, and several others in the following years.
Toyota cited that in for the initial phase, only 10,000 units will be produced, along with 68 fueling station, all the way from San Francisco to San Diego. As for its price tag, Toyota announced that the car will be sold between US$ 50,000 to US$ 100,000.
