The New Hyundai Genesis Accepts Commands from Google Glass

TEMPO.CO, California - Wearable gadget is on the rage as it makes its way into the automotive industry. Hyundai announced that the new Hyundai Genesis can interact with the new Google Glass . The Director of Customer Connect and Service Business Development Hyundai Motor America, Barry Ratzlaff, said that wearable gadgets are one of many ways to improve driving experience. “This device also enables us to give our drivers real-time information about their cars,” he said on Friday, January 3, 2014.
The commands that can be given include locking and unlocking doors, tracking the vehicle, and even sending navigation routes directly to the car’s SATNAV. Routine service inspection times can also be reported through Google Glass. The communication runs is through Hyundai’s cloud network named Blue Link Platform, which enables users to communicate with their cars from a distance without holding their cellphones. This feature will be on the new 2015 Genesis sedan onwards.
Hyundai is no stranger to the mobile world. Three years ago, they launched a user manual for the Equus sedan in the form of an iPad app. Mid last year, they launched an application to remind users when their next service inspection is due. The latter is available on Android and iOS platforms.
