TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The development of Twitter has triggered the company to also develop its engineering organizations. In order to enable the engineers to have access to world-class technical trainings, the company is establishing the Twitter University.
"We want Twitter to be the best place in the world for engineers to work," Twitter Senior Vice President of Engineering, Chris Fry stated in the company’s official blog. The university offers a range of technical trainings, such as orientation classes for new engineers to iOS Bootcamp, JVM Fundamentals, Distributed Systems, Scala School and more. Most of the classes are taught by Twitter’s team members.
Earlier, Twitter has acquired Marakana, a company dedicated to open source trainings. The company, founded by Marko and Sasa Gargenta, has worked with Twitter for months. In the future, Twitter will also provide the trainings for public. "We aim to release some of the Twitter University content online to anyone who’d like to learn. You can keep up with Twitter University by following @TwU," Chris Fry wrote.
