TEMPO.CO, Ohio - Sleep is not only important for the growing children, but also for mature women. Lack of sleep has been deemed to have effects on aging indications. Researchers from the United States have found the relevant proof to the opinions.
"Poor quality of sleep will make skin lost 30 percent of water content for 72 hours," wrote Daily Mail on Thursday, July 25. With the decreased water content, skin will lose the protection, including one to UV radiation exposures.
The study had been done by a group of researchers from the University of Hospital Case Medical Centre, Ohio, United States. They investigate the catabolysis process on the skin and tissue synchronization and the purification. The process was then associated with the quality of sleep. Catabolysis is the natural purification process that helps remove dirt from skin cells which can cause cell damages.
Women who are lacking of sleep will have more aging indications. These indications appear in the form of tiny lines, a decrease of skin elasticity, pigmentation that is unevenly distributed and slow recovery from sunburn.
The skin cells, like the whole human body, have a 24-hour rhythm. Healthy skin cells will maximize the natural recovery during the night. That is why disruptions to the night sleep will affect someone's skin health.
