TEMPO.CO, Makassar - Jusuf Kalla has been elected as the chairman of Centrist Asia-Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI) for the third time and will lead the world peace organization for the next four years.

Executive director for the Asian Foundation and CAPDI member Makarim Wibisono revealed that the CAPDI management will be faced with many upcoming challenges. Therefore, the structure of the organization will be strengthened. The organization will research and develop secretariats in a number of countries.

Secretary general of the Pakistan Muslim League and also CAPDI’s newest secretary general, Muhammad Hussain Sayed, stated that Kalla was elected for his background, experience, and his ability to resolve issues related to world peace.

"His efforts in dealing with issues of humanity and reconciliation have been proven, such as Rohingya and Aceh," said Hussain.
