TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast rain showers in parts of Jakarta on Thursday, September 5, 2024, primarily during the early morning and afternoon. Despite this, the air temperature could reach 33 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather forecast on the agency’s website, light rain has fallen in North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands since early this morning, while Central Jakarta is experiencing heavy cloud cover and South Jakarta is cloudy. Only East Jakarta remains overcast.

By around 7:00 a.m., the rain is expected to subside throughout Jakarta. South Jakarta and East Jakarta may still experience cloudiness, while other areas of the capital will likely be cloudy. The humidity level throughout the day is expected to be between 60-90 percent.

From 1:00 p.m. until tonight, light rain is likely to fall again in South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta. There is no potential for rain in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, or the Thousand Islands in the evening. However, the sky in these three areas will remain cloudy.

The agency noted that the wind tends to blow from the northeast to the southeast at a speed of 2-10 kilometers per hour.

For Jakarta’s neighbors, the agency also detected the potential for rain in Depok City, West Java, around 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, the temperature in Depok will reach 34 degrees Celsius by noon.

Bekasi City is expected to be sunny and cloudy on Thursday morning, but rain is likely to wet the area from noon until around 8:00 p.m. The BMKG detected the potential for hazy air in Bogor City this morning, around 6:00 a.m. Subsequently, there is a possibility of fog at 11:00 a.m., followed by light rain until the afternoon at 5:00 p.m.
