1. Indonesia AirAsia Launches New International Flight Route: Denpasar-Kota Kinabalu, 3 Times a Week

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia AirAsia inaugurated a new international flight connecting Denpasar, Bali to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This route operates with a frequency of 3 times a week, namely Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga said, this route is the second route connected to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia after the Jakarta - Kota Kinabalu route which was inaugurated earlier in February.

2. BNPB Warns of Flood Potential in New Capital in Upcoming Week

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several areas in East Kalimantan, including those within Nusantara Capital City (IKN), are still at risk of flooding in the coming week. After heavy rainfall last weekend, floods have inundated several sub-districts in Mahakam Ulu, Balikpapan, and North Penajam Paser.

Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Abdul Muhari said the flood could potentially occur due to the ongoing atmospheric phenomenon that increases the level of rainfall; Rossby-Kelvin waves and Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO).

3. President-Elect Prabowo Subianto Affirms Commitment to Continue New Capital Construction

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President-elect Prabowo Subianto stressed his commitment to continue and complete the construction of Nusantara Capital City (IKN). If it’s possible, he said, he would like to expedite the construction. 

The statement was made by Prabowo, who is also the Minister of Defense, while attending a cabinet meeting led by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi at the Garuda Palace, IKN, on Monday, August 12, 2024.
