KPK Probes 4 Witnesses in PT Telkom Corruption Case to Compute State Loss

23 July 2024 10:13 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) probed four witnesses in the alleged corruption case at the telecommunication company PT Telkom from the 2017-2018 period on Monday, July 22, 2024. The alleged corruption involved procuring fictitious goods and services which caused state losses of up to billions of rupiah.

KPK has summoned several witnesses since the corruption case was unveiled in May 2024. “The investigators confirmed the witnesses all came and probed by auditors to compute the total of state loss,” KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardika said in an official statement on Monday, July 22, 2024.

The four witnesses were the Procurement Manager of PT Infrastruktur Telekomunikasi Indonesia Fajar Setiadi; the Vice President of Treasury of PT Sigma Cipta Caraka, Gatot Wahyudianto; the then General Manager of Sales of PT Erakomp Infonusa Septianus Akwan; and Director of PT Visiland Dharma Sarana, Danny Harjono.

Previously, KPK estimated the state loss caused by PT Telkom’s corruption to reach billions of rupiah. “(The state loss) likely surpasses Rp100 billion,” KPK Deputy Chairperson Alexander Marwata said on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Alexander also said the estimation is subject to change and could amount to higher figures as the investigation is still ongoing.

KPK announce the Telkom Group’s fictitious procurement on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. A week after, KPK submitted a motion to the Director General of Immigration to prevent six people allegedly involved in the corruption case from traveling abroad.

The six people prevented were Siti Choirina (former EVP DES PT Telkom), Paruhum Natigor Sitorus (former Managing Director of PT Infrastructure Telkom/Telkom Infra), Tan Heng Lok (Owner of PT Telemedia Onyx Pratama), Natalia Gozali (Director of Operations PT Mitra Buana Komputindo, Victor Antonio Kohar (Director of PT Asiatel Globalindo), and Fery Tan (Director of PT Erakomp Infonusa).

KPK also conducted searches in April 2024 to offices and other relevant sites to investigate the corruption allegation.
