BMKG Warns of Potential Downpours with Lightning in Jakarta Today

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Indonesian Meteorological, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted a mix of cloudy skies and light rain for Jakarta today, July 5. Air temperatures are expected to range between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius.

However, BMKG warns of possible thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds across most Jakarta areas throughout the day, evening, and early morning.

In the morning, Central and South Jakarta will start cloudy, while East Jakarta will experience heavy clouds and North Jakarta will see light rain. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands are bracing for thunderstorms.

In the afternoon, light rain is expected in Central, South, East, and North Jakarta. The Thousand Islands will continue to experience thunderstorms.

In the evening, Central, South, and East Jakarta will transition to cloudy skies. North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will be heavily clouded.

On Saturday, July 6, early morning brings light rain to Central and North Jakarta, while East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands are likely to face thunderstorms. Meanwhile, South Jakarta will remain cloudy.
