List of Alternative Road Routes during the 2024 Jakarta International Marathon

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Transportation Agency carried out traffic engineering around the National Monument (Monas) and Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) areas in the context of holding the 2024 BTN Jakarta International Marathon (Jakim 2024) on Sunday, June 23, 2024. The event is part of a series of Jakarta Anniversaries.

Head of the Jakarta Transportation Service, Syafrin Liputo, said that to support this marathon event, officers carried out traffic engineering until 12:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) or on a situational basis. "The road sections and intersections where lane closures will be carried out are those that intersect with the Jakarta International route," he said in a written statement, quoted on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

The following are the alternative routes that the public can take during the Jakim 2024 event:

a.) Traffic from the South (Cikini) to the North (Juanda) can go via Jalan Arief Rahman Hakim-Jalan Kramat Kwitang-Jalan Pasar Senen-Jalan Bungur Raya-Jalan Angkasa-Jalan Samanhudi-Jalan Pecenongan-and so on;

b.) Traffic from the West (HI Roundabout, Tanah Abang, Kebon Sirih, Budi Kemuliaan) to the East (Tugu Tani, Salemba, Taman Suropati) can go via Jalan Thamrin on the West side - Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat on the West side - Jalan Majapahit - Jalan Juanda - Post Road - Gunung Sahari Road - and so on;

c.) Traffic from East (Taman Suropati) to West (Tanah Abang) can go via Jalan Teuku Umar-Jalan Cut Mutia-Jalan Menteng Raya-Jalan Arief Rahman Hakim-Jalan Kwitang Raya-and so on or can go via Jalan Madiun-Jalan Sultan Agung -Jalan Galunggung-Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur III-Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur II-Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo- and so on;

d.) Residents around the Jalan Kusuma Atmaja, Jalan Sumenep, Jalan Purworejo and Jalan Blora areas can use Jalan Latuharhary-Jalan Sultan Agung-Jalan Galunggung and so on;

e.) Traffic from the West (Karet Station) to the East (Manggarai) can use Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo-Jalan Galunggung-Jalan Sultan Agung and so on;

f.) Traffic from the East (Taman Suropati) to the West (Tanah Abang) can go via Jalan Madiun-Jalan Sultan Agung-Jalan Galunggung-Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur III-Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur II-Jalan R.M Margono Djojohadikoesoemo and so on;

g.) Traffic from the West (Tanah Abang) to the East (Kampung Melayu) can use Jalan Mas Masnyur-Jalan Prof Dr Satrio or JLNT Prof Dr Satrio-Jalan Casablanka Raya-Jalan KH Abdulah Syafei and so on;

h.) Traffic from the East (Kampung Melayu) to the West (Tanah Abang) can use Jalan KH Abdulah Syafei-Jalan Casablanca Raya-JLNT Prof Dr Satrio or Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio - Jalan Mas Mansyur and so on;

i.) Traffic from the East (Kampung Melayu) to the West (Palmerah Station) can use Jalan K.H. Abdulah Syafei-Jalan Casablanca Raya-JLNT Prof Dr Satrio or Jalan Prof Dr Satrio-Jalan Mas Mansyur-Jalan Penjernihan-Jalan Pejompongan Raya-Jalan Palmerah Timur 1 and so on;

j.) People around the Setiabudi (Pedurenan) area who want to travel can use Jalan Denpasar-Jalan Prof Dr Satrio- Turning around Jalan Prof Dr Satrio-Jalan Denpasar-Jalan Denpasar Selatan-Jalan Gatot Subroto can go via Jalan Prof Dr Satrio-Jalan DR Anak Agung Gde Agung's Idea - Jalan Denpasar Raya - Jalan Denpasar Selatan - Jalan Gatot Subroto and so on;

k.) Traffic from Timung (Cawang) to West (Slipi) can use Kupingan Besar Semanggi-Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-Jalan Mas Mansyur-Jalan Penjernihan-Jalan Pejompongan Raya-Kupingan Pejompongan Raya-Jalan Gatot Subroto and so on;

l.) Traffic from the north (Tendean) to the west (Ragunan) can use Jalan Captain Tendean-Jalan Gatot Subroto-Jalan Pasar Minggu-Jalan Duren Tiga Raya-Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya and so on;

m.) People around the East side of Jalan Prapanca Raya (Jalan Bangka, Jalan Wijaya 1, Jalan Kemang Raya) who want to travel to the west (Blok M) can use Jalan Bangka Raya-Jalan Captain Tendean;

n.) People around the West side of Jalan Prapanca Raya (Jalan Dharmawangsa, Jalan Melawai, Jalan Wijaya II) who want to travel to the West (Mampang) can use Jalan Panglima Polim-Jalan Trunojoyo-Jalan Wolter Monginsidi-Jalan Gunawarman-Jalan Senopati- Suryo Street-Captain Tendean Street and so on;

o.) Traffic from the South (TB Simatupang) to the North (Senayan Roundabout) can use Jalan Pangeran Antasari-Jalan Dharmawangsa Lekir 1 and so on;

p.) JLNT Antasari in both North-South and South-North directions is closed.

There are crucial points that require special attention on the road sections that intersect with the Jakim 2024 route, namely:

1.) The area between Jalan Wahidin Raya-Jalan Gunung Sahari-Jalan Budi Utomo and the area between Jalan Veteran-Jalan Veteran 1-Jalan Veteran 2-Jalan Veteran 3 and Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara. This section of road can be crossed again by vehicles, after the last runner has passed. Runners are expected to pass at 05:30.

2.) The area between Jalan Pattimura-Jalan Sisingamangaraja. Especially for people in the Taman Mataram area and its surroundings, those who want to do activities can use the East side of Jalan Sisingamangaraja to then head south to Jalan Raden Patah II and then go to Jalan Trunojoyo;

3.) The area along Jalan Hassanudin-Jalan Iskandarsyah-Jalan Prapanca Raya-Jalan Antasari. This road will be used as a route for runners.

"People around the area should be able to look for other roads or follow alternative routes that have been created by the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Service," stressed Syafrin.
