Eid al-Adha Holiday: AP II Airports Serve Over 750,000 Passengers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian state-owned airport company Angkasa Pura II (AP II) recorded over 750,082 passengers during the Eid al-Adha holiday from June 15 to 18, 2024, in the 20 airports it managed.
"With a total of 6,381 flights," said acting SVP of Corporate Secretary of AP II Cin Asmoro in a written statement on Thursday. June 20, 2024. Cin said the largest flight traffic occurred on June 15 with 252,342 passengers, and on June 17 with 165,307 passengers.
"Amid high air traffic during the Eid al-Adha long weekend, all stakeholders collaborated to maintain aspects of security, safety, service, and compliance with all regulations," he said.
According to Cin Asmoro, operations and services at AP II airports ran smoothly during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
He explained there are five busiest AP II airports during the Eid al-Adha holiday, namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang) with 469,748 passengers; Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang) with 76,370 passengers; Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (Jakarta) with 20,169 passengers; Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport (Pekanbaru) with 32,130 passengers; and Minangkabau Airport (Padang) with 26,133 passengers.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the largest and busiest in Indonesia, served the Eid al-Adha travelers sufficiently during the long weekend, Cin said. “[Soekarno-Hatta Airport] is supported by various operational support facilities and services equipped with the latest technology, including the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC), Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC), and Land Transport Control Center (LTCC)," he said.
Cin said all AP II airports strive to provide the best service, including improving flight connectivity. He mentioned that on June 14, ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Radin Inten II Airport and Super Air Jet started operating the Lampung-Batam direct flight route to boost flight connectivity.
