TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi has summoned National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin over the alleged spying by the police’s anti-terror squad or Densus 88 personnel on the AGO’s junior special crimes prosecutor (Jampidsus).
“I have summoned them earlier,” he said after the Ansor Youth Movement event at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, May 27. Listyo and Burhanuddin attended the launch event of Govtech at the State Palace today.
Listyo and Burhanuddin met and exchanged greetings. Burhanuddin said that there was no problem with the National Police Chief.
In a press statement at Istora Senayan, the President refused to elaborate further on what he discussed with the National Police Chief and the Attorney General. He then asked Listyo, who accompanied him to the event, to clarify the matter.
“Ask the National Police Chief directly,” said the former Mayor of Solo.
Listyo, who was met after accompanying Jokowi, stopped short of providing information about the alleged spying on the prosecutor. He insisted that there was no problem with the Attorney General. “There's really no problem,” he said.
As reported earlier, a member of Densus 88 was arrested while stalking AGO prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah at a French food restaurant in Cipete, South Jakarta, on Sunday night.
As of Monday, May 27, neither the National Police nor the AGO had issued an official statement related to the case.
