TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin are silent regarding the alleged stalking done by Densus 88 personnel against AGO’s junior special crimes prosecutor (Jampidsus).
A member of Special Anti-Terrorist Unit Densus 88 was caught while stalking a Jampidsus, Febrie Adriansyah, at a French food restaurant in Cipete, South Jakarta, on Sunday evening. Tempo reported that two people entered the restaurant shortly after Febrie arrived. Suspicions arose after one of the two people pointed a device suspected of being a recorder at Febrie's table.
The military police who were guarding Febrie immediately nabbed the person, while the other person escaped. Based on the interrogation, the men were Densus 88 members.
As of Monday, May 27, 2024, both the National Police and the Attorney General’s Office are yet to release a statement.
Listyo and Burhanuddin met at the launch of GovTech INA Digital at the State Palace today. The two of them sat close to each other, flanking TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto.
Burhanuddin, who had already sat down, was approached by Listyo. The two exchanged greetings. "There's a lot of excitement over there," said Listyo, pointing to reporters. "There's no problem over here, though," said Burhanuddin, laughing.
After the event, reporters asked Listyo and Burhanuddin for information, but the two diverted their attention with a photo session.
A few moments later, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto took both Listyo and Burhanuddin’s hands as they left together through the back door of the State Palace. "Look, they’re already holding hands,” said Hadi, holding Listyo and Burhanuddin's hands before going down the stairs. Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia followed them from behind.
The minister said jokingly, “Ask the aide,” when reporters asked both the police chief and attorney general about the recent arrest against the Densus 88 member for allegedly stalking Jampidsus.
Febrie has been guarded by military police by request from the Junior Attorney General for Military Crimes (Jampidmil) because Jampidsus was handling several major corruption cases. Moreover, the AGO received intimidation during their search in Bangka Belitung for the tin corruption case.
Military Police have tightened security at the AGO following the arrest, as it announced on Instagram. First Lieutenant Andri leads the AGO security. However, the post uploaded on Saturday, May 25, 2024, is now inaccessible.
The Attorney General's Office is currently in the spotlight after uncovering the PT Timah corruption case worth Rp271 trillion.
