TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport rank rose to 28th best airport in the world this year according to Skytrax, an international air transportation ranking organization based in London.
In the World's Top 100 Airport 2024 list published by Skytrax on April 17 at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was up 15 positions from the previous year at 43rd.
"The 28th position is a record high for Soekarno-Hatta Airport," said PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Agus Wialdi in a written statement on Wednesday. He noted that this position surpassed the initial target of the top 30 in the international ranking.
Agus thanked all parties who had brought Soekarno-Hatta Airport to its best ranking, including ranked 5th in the category of airports with 60 to 70 million passengers per year.
Skytrax determined the world's best airports list by assessing around 500 airports around the globe, involving customers from more than 100 countries to examine 44 service points at airports.
According to Agus, Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s achievement is also related to its Transformation program in 2023. Last year, SOE Minister Erick Thohir formed an Acceleration of Service, Business, and Operations Transformation Team at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The team focused on Airport Expression, Operational & Commercial Excellence, Customer Experience, Digital Exploration, and Route Expansion (increasing flight capacity).
"Through the transformation program launched by the SOE Ministry in 2023, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is increasingly on par with the best airports in the world," Agus concluded.
