TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - According to the National Police Chief's Regulation Number 18 of 2014 Article 1 Paragraph 4, it is stated that a Police Clearance Certificate (SKCK) is an official certificate issued by the National Police to a citizen/applicant to fulfill a request from the person concerned for a need because of the provisions that require it, based on the results research existing biodata and Police records about the person.

SKCK is usually used as a requirement for proof that a person has or has not committed an act that is against or violates the law or is currently in the process of being prosecuted for an offense he or she has committed.

The creation of this SKCK is not only intended for Indonesian citizens, but is also intended for foreign citizens (WNA) who live in Indonesia.

The following is a review of how to get SKCK for foreigners in Indonesia, complete with terms and procedures.

Requirements for Making SKCK for Foreigners

The method for obtaining SKCK for foreigners is actually not much different from that for Indonesian citizens, the only difference is the requirements.

Quoting from the page https://skck.polri.go.id/, here are the requirements for making SKCK for foreign citizens:

1. Letter of application from the sponsor, company or institution that employs, uses or is responsible for foreigners.

2. Photocopy of KTP and Marriage Certificate if the sponsor is an Indonesian Citizen (WNI) Husband/Wife.

3. Passport photocopy

4. Photocopy of Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP).

5. Photocopy of IMTA from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower.

6. Photocopy of Reporting Certificate (STM) from the police.

7. Fingerprint documents and fingerprint formula.

8. 6 (six) 4 x 6 color photographs with a yellow background, photos of polite clothing and a collar. The photo does not use facial accessories, the face is visible, and for applicants who wear the hijab, the passport photo must show the full face.

The Procedure for Making SKCK for Foreign Citizens

Especially for foreigners, making SKCK can only be done at the National Police Headquarters and also the Regional Police. The following is the procedure if done offline:

1. Come to the National Police Headquarters or Regional Police Headquarters.

2. Bring the specified documents.

3. Fill out the SKCK creation form at the National Police Headquarters or Regional Police Headquarters.

4. Record fingerprints if you don't have them yet.

5. Make payment for making SKCK.

6. Wait until the SKCK creation process is complete.

The Police Clearance Certificate (SKCK) is only valid for six months from the date of issuance. An extension period can be made if the application is submitted for less than one year and the old SKCK must be shown. If it has been one year, you must apply for a new SKCK. That's the way to get SKCK for foreigners in Indonesia.

The cost for making the latest SKCK is Rp30,000 and can be paid via cash, QRIS, or mobile banking.
