TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga noted that until D+5 of Eid al-Fitr, the number of vehicles passing through the four main toll gates had reached 961,000. This figure makes up 52 percent of the predicted 1.87 million vehicles returning to Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Depok (Jabotabek) during the Eid homecoming return flow.
Jasa Marga noted that the highest increase in traffic volume during the Eid return flow occurred at the Cikampek Utama and Kalihurip Utama Toll Gates, namely 520,043 vehicles. It is followed by 239,316 vehicles from Cikupa Toll Gate and 202,493 from Ciawi.
Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur predicts that around 907,000 vehicles have yet to return to the region. According to Subakti, the Eid homecoming return flow will still occur until the 18th of April.
"We estimate that around 907,000 vehicles will return to Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Depok)," Subakti said in his written statement, Monday, 15 April 2024.
According to him, the crucial point of the Eid return flow peak occurs at KM 66 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta. This section, he said, is a meeting point for traffic from Trans Java and Bandung.
To anticipate the Eid homecoming return flow, the agency has added transaction lanes at toll gates, diverted traffic to the functional lane in Jakarta-Cikampek II South, and prepared facilities in the contraflow lane.
"To realize a smooth homecoming return travel, Jasa Marga will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders such as the Police Traffic Department, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of SOEs, and Toll Road Business Entities," said Subakti.
