KAI Operates 256 Long-Distance Trains per Day During Eid Homecoming

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (PT KAI) will operate 256 long-distance trains per day during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming. KAI also provides 150,924 seats during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

"On average, we operate 256 long-distance trains per day with 150,924 seats," said KAI's VP of Public Relations, Joni Martinus, in a statement on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Joni stated that during this year's Eid transportation period, the average punctuality rate for long-distance train journeys reached 99.6 percent. KAI also recorded an average punctuality rate for the arrival of long-distance trains at 93.4 percent.

Therefore, Joni urged all passengers to allocate enough time when heading to departure stations to avoid the possibility of missing their trips. "Considering the increasing traffic density on the roads during Eid," Joni said.

Joni stated that KAI still allows customers to bring luggage without charge. The baggage requirements include a maximum weight of 20 kg and a maximum volume of 100 centimeter cubic with maximum dimensions of 70 x 48 x 30 cm and consisting of no more than four items of luggage.

According to KAI's observation, the Eid homecoming return trip has already begun on Friday, April 12, 2024, or H+2 of Eid. Joni projected that the peak of the return trip would occur on April 13 to 14, 2024.

"As of Sunday, April 14, 2024, there are 183,805 passengers," Joni said. He added that this number is likely to increase as ticket sales are still ongoing.

For departure schedules from H-10 to H+10 of Eid, KAI has recorded the sale of 3,146,307 tickets. The following are the long-distance trains that are favored by customers during the Eid homecoming period:
