Previously, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, claimed that there has been a decrease in traffic accidents from April 4 to April 10, 2024. Aan stated that these figures were based on the evaluation of the homecoming flow before Eid al-Fitr until April 10.

"Traffic accidents decreased by 12 percent, from 1,723 cases to 1,581 cases," said Aan Suhanan in his official statement on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Aan detailed that out of the total figures, fatalities decreased by 0.04 percent, severe injuries by 19 percent, and minor injuries by 18 percent. He compared these figures with the numbers recorded during Operation Ketupat back in 2023.

However, Aan expressed concern over the accidents on KM 58 of the Cikampek Toll Road and the recent fatal incident on KM 370 of the Batang Toll Road. The accident on KM 58 of the Cikampek Toll Road resulted in 12 fatalities, while the accident on KM 370 of the Batang Toll Road claimed seven lives.
