Head of Ganjar Mahfud Campaign Team Plans to Meet Prabowo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the National Winning team for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md., Arsjad Rasjid, stated that he is planning to visit president-elect Prabowo Subianto. Arsjad mentioned his plan during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Golkr Party Bambang Soesatyo on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Bambang said that Arsjad may visit Prabowo on Thursday, April 11, 2024. "Pak Arsjad visited me earlier today, yes he will be visiting Pak Prabowo," Bambang said to journalists on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Bambang however, said that there is no certain schdule of the meeting, but Arsjad had indeed expresed his intention. "Depends on the correspondence [Arsjad] had said that he will visit," Bambang said.

Not only Arsjad, Bambang said that Head of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka national campaign team Rosan Roeslani, had also visited him. But, Rosan did not mention anything about his meeting with Chairwoman of PDI Perjuangan Megawati Soekarnoputri. "[Pak Rosan] had also visited, but don't have time [to discuss the meeting with MEgawati]," Bambang added.

Bambang asserted that competition during the 2024 Presidential Election is normal, but the most important thing is that the candidates will remain as friends. "Pak Arsjad and Pak Rosan had met together. The principle is, for us the juniors, do politics as necessary, but stay friends forever," Bambang explained.

Bambang also hoped that any party who was taking part in the 2024 Presidential Election, can reconciliate. "There is time for us to compete, and there is time for us to unite," Bambang said.
