TEMPO.CO, Jakarta A traffic accident involving three vehicles occurred at KM 58 + 600 towards Jakarta on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Monday morning, April 8, 2024. The vehicles were Daihatsu GrandMax (KR1), Daihatsu Terios (KR2), and a large Bus (KR3). The Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said the police had evacuated the victims to a hospital in Karawang.

He also asked all parties to empathize with the victims of this incident. "The victims have been evacuated to a hospital in Karawang," Trunoyudo said in an official statement received by Tempo on Monday, April 8, 2024.

Trunoyudo said the police were still investigating the incident. He said his side would handle this incident comprehensively.

Currently, the police are diverting traffic to unravel the congestion and vehicle buildup at the scene. After this incident, Trunoyudo asked all travelers to remain careful during the Eid homecoming and its return flow. He said the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also emphasized the priority of road safety. "The National Police Chief continues to remind drivers to be careful," he said.

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol explained in a statement that the police were still handling the case. Until the article was published, the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Cikampek was congested ahead of the location of the accident. Officers continue to work to normalize the lane.

For the time being, the Contraflow lane of KM 48 to KM 70 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road is closed at the discretion of the Police. "PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this incident, we urge drivers to remain careful, and make sure their vehicle is roadworthy. Please rest at places provided if tired," the statement wrote.
