TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned toll road operator Trans Jabar Tol (PT TJT) president director Abdul Hakim has spoken up about recent landslides on the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi or Bocimi Toll Road. He said the company coordinated with the police promptly after the incident and inspected the affected area to conduct evacuations and regulate traffic.
According to him, the incident occurred at 20:00 Jakarta time on Wednesday, April 3, on section 2 of the Bocimi toll road KM 64+600 A from Jakarta to Sukabumi.
“Two people suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident and were evacuated to the nearest hospital. There were no fatalities,” Abdul said in a written statement on Thursday, April 4, as reported by Antara.
The two victims were treated at the Sekarwangi Sukabumi Regional Hospital. Three vehicles were involved in the incident, two MPVs and a truck.
Traffic from Jakarta has been diverted to the Cigombong Toll Gate, and traffic from Parungkuda to Jakarta has been closed. “We can say that this landslide was caused by natural force majeure, due to the high intensity of rainfall,” he said.
Abdul also said that the company was still assessing the impact of landslides on other lanes and taking measures to immediately repair the affected road. On behalf of the PT TJT, he apologized to all users of the Bocimi Toll Road for the inconvenience caused by the incident.
